BRIEF

CONCEPT

SOLUTION

To explore the subject of photography in a country I have fallen in love with over the course of my life.

After the COVID-19 lockdown that lasted almost 3 years in Hong Kong, my family was finally able to visit Japan again, a country we used to travel to at least twice a year. I wanted to convey how precious this trip was to me and materalise the memory in a carefully-crafted way.

A 44-page hand-bound photobook utilising Japanese stab-stitch binding with red thread. It represents the string of fate in Japanese culture, which is a consistent visual element across the publication.
